Sabrina Simon founded Empower Project based on an idea she had been growing for years. While living in Baltimore she saw on a daily basis how neighborhoods were blighted by food deserts. She had to ride her bike to the opposite side of the city from where she was living in order to access affordable produce. Based on those experiences and her farming background she decided to be a part of the positive change that Baltimore needs. With the help of her friends, family and locals, they created Empower Project.

Empower Project is an urban farm using regenerative farming practices (permaculture) to produce healthy food for the community while also giving back to our environment.

We are a new organization beginning our first year of operation. Our farming season will begin in March of 2020 where we intend to grow food for the Park Heights Community as well as for farmer's markets and restaurants.
